REVOLUTIONARY PERFORMANCE

Boyesen’s patented dual-stage design incorporates a specially shaped top reed and a ported bottom reed. The top reed is lightweight and resilient for crisp throttle response at partial throttle or low RPMs. The stiffer, bottom reed is ported to provide maximum flow and horsepower at higher RPMs. More valves equals more power by creating:

More Air Flow. The dual-stage design allows you to replace your stock reed stop with a Rev-Plate which permits the reeds to open freely and function efficiently.

More Air Velocity. The multi-port feature of the bottom reed creates more channels for the charge, delivering increased velocity to the intake ports.

More Overall Power. Dual-stage reeds work in unison to perform efficiently throughout the entire powerband. The difference in stiffness between the top reed and the bottom reed allow the reeds to respond quickly and accurately to changes in engine pressure. This translates into quicker acceleration, crisper throttle response and increased horsepower throughout the powerband.

Toni Bou secures his seventh consecutive indoor X-Trial World Championship

The Repsol rider wins the penultimate round —Bielefeld, Germany— of the indoor FIM World Championship and secures the title.

His statistics in the X-Trial World Championship are amazing: 35 wins —the last 20 consecutive—, from a total of 55 rounds. And all this at only 26 years-old.

In Bielefeld, the Repsol rider dominated both the semi-final, which he finished with zero points —the same result he had in the qualifying—, and the finale, where he received only one point for exceeding the time. Bou took part in the last phase of this round with the title already secured as Albert Cabestany was eliminated in the semi-final.

“It was a very special round. At the beginning I had some tense moments, but then I was absolutely happy at the end of the round. In the last part I was able to compete with no pressure, very comfortable and thinking only about victory. Facing the last round with the title already secured was great. The bike worked perfectly, as always. Feeling the support of my team, my friends and my family is fantastic. I can only thank them.” - Toni Bou

His team mate in the Repsol Montesa Honda team, Takahisa Fujinami, was not able to repeat a podium result as he did in the last two rounds. Three consecutive failures in the semi-final prevented him from getting to the last part of the round.

“The Qualifying went well, but in the first area of the semi-final I wanted to be fast to avoid receiving a penalty due to the time and I made a mistake that made me lose focus. It was a good day for Toni [Bou] and the team but I’m not satisfied. There is one round left before the end of the championship and I have a real chance to finish in the top three, so I will try to be positive.” - Takahisa Fujinami

The first round of the Maxxis British Championship was held at the teams home track, which had been battered by heavy showers throughout the previous week as well as Saturday night. The track had taken the weather well and was in great shape for Sunday mornings qualifying session.

After quickly settling in to the first couple of laps Gert posted 7th fastest, was happy with his times and remained upbeat and excited for the racing. ‘My bike feels really good and is awesome to ride’ commented Gert ‘It’s great to get started with racing and I’m looking forward to getting stuck in’.

In the first moto Gert started around 10th place and within only a few laps, moved quickly up to 6th place and was comfortably closing in on the group of riders ahead of him. Unfortunately, Gert had suffered with goggle problems and eventually had to remove them, which impeded his progress. At the close of the race, the number 37 rider had moved his Kawasaki in to 5th place finishing only one and a half seconds behind former world champion Steve Ramon in fourth. Gert said ‘I had a problem with visibility due to the conditions from early on and waited as long as possible before I had to remove my goggles. Once they were off it was a matter of doing the best I could’.

In the second moto the track was incredibly wet after continuous snow and rain since the first race. An imperative clean start was short lived for Gert because as he rounded the first turn he was drenched from head to toe in freezing cold, track surface water from his fellow competitors. It was almost impossible for any of the riders to wear goggles due to the terrible weather conditions, Gert removed his and restarted in 35th place and then dug deep to claw his way back up to 17th and finishing joint 9th overall on the day.

Team manager, Ian Bradleys’ comments: ‘It’s been an indifferent day and there was such a contrast between motos with the second race been so wet. I’m happy with Gerts results today. He dug deep and showed a lot of heart and determination. The bike is working really well and the conditions were unfortunate, Lyng will soon be upon us and we’ll be ready for it”.

McCanney to take on Extreme Eddy

Apico Factory Racing is proud to announce that Gas Gas UK Enduro rider Danny McCanney will be sponsored by Arai helmets and Dragon goggles for the UK and World Enduro Championships.

The second round of Eddy’s Xtreme Enduro Championship at Cowm Quarry will be the first home event for Danny wearing Arai and Dragon. Danny has already experienced success wearing Arai and Dragon at the World Super Enduro in Barcelona, walking away with 2 first places. Danny now leads the Championship and is looking for the win in Paris on the 9^th March to clinch the Junior World Super Enduro Title for 2013.
